A Guide to Single Malt Scotch

Category: Aberfeldy

Aberfeldy is a distillery in Perthshire, Scotland and known for producing single malt Scotch whisky. It was founded in 1896 at the river Tay by John Dewar & Sons Ltd. and was officially opened in 1898. The distillery closed during the World War I and II due to the scarcity in the supply of barley, the main ingredient in making beer and whisky.

The Aberfeldy staff offers tours throughout the day from Monday to Saturday except during Christmas and New Year. The Deluxe Tour includes a free blender’s malt glass and a taste of the distillery’s three finest whiskies. The Signature Tour at Aberfeldy includes a complimentary Signature blender’s malt glass, and a taste of its five finest whiskies such as the Signature and Aberfeldy 21 year old. Both of these tours include access to the Brand Centre.

Aberfeldy Distillery takes pride in its Aberfeldy 12– and Aberfeldy 21-year old whiskies that have received several medals and complies with the Scotch Whisky regulations pertaining to the ingredients and equipment used in making the whisky.
