Bruichladdich is a single malt whisky producer found on the isle of Islay in Scotland. The distillery is located close to the town of Port Charlotte and is directly opposite the Bowmore distillery. Founded in the latter half of the 1800s, this distillery is still going strong today. The younger expressions of Bruciladdich (10 and 12 year olds) tend to have a very grassy undertone to them, as they gets older though (particularly in the 13 year old malts) the fruity flavors break through and this increases even further with age.
Bruichladdich makes a wide range of whiskys. Some, like the Port Charlotte and Octomer, are heavily peated Thes are very complex whiskies, The distillery is open to the public but the folks at Bruicladdich ask that reservations be made in advance.
