Glenfiddich 15 year old

This was my first journey in the single Malt genre and I must say I was very impressed. It was smooth like leather going down. It just makes me want to explore it even more.
This is a very good 15 year old for its price. I think the taste of it comes mostly from sherry, although it is not dominated by it like the Macallan 12. It is more balanced with the bourbon cask and oak. Not fruity, nor too sweet, nor acid, not peaty. Full of flavor and smooth. Recommended if you enjoyed Dalmore 12, Macallan Sherry Oak 12, Glenmorangie Lasanta or the Balvenie 12 Double Wood. I would say it does well comapred with these other 12 sherry casks. I would not compare it to some of the 15 year olds of these other distilleries though.
This is my current Scotch!
The 15yr is nothing like the 12 or 18. This is my favorite Glenfiddich. Although it has the flavors of its cousins in it, the new flavor is what makes it so unique. It has a strong honey flavor to it. This is such a nice change to the Glenfiddich range. This Scotch ranks 14th on my all time list.
