More from Balblair

Balblair is a single malt scotch distillery that was established in 1790 and is considered to be one of Scotland oldest distilleries in the Highlands. It was founded by John Ross in 1790 and in 1824 his son also joined in the family company.

In the late 19th century the distillery was passed on and taken over by Alexander Cowan who ran the distillery for more than a half a century and then sold it to Robert Cumming.  In 1996 it was purchased by Inver House Distillers, which still owns the distillery today.

Balblair‚ most popular expressions are the vintage single malts which have a sweet, creamy, and spicy flavor that has a slight smokiness. The Balblair Member’s Only single malt scotch is sweet and smoky with a smooth finish. It has underlying elements of toffee, butterscotch orange, apple, and floral notes.

The Balblair distillery has a visitors center and offers tastings and tours.
