Bruichladdich is a whisky producer found on the isle of Islay in Scotland. The distillery is located close to the town of Port Charlotte and is directly opposite the Bowmore distillery. Founded in the latter half of the 1800s, this distillery is still going strong today.

The younger expressions of Bruciladdich (10 and 12 year olds) tend to have a very grassy undertone to them, as they get older though (particularly in the 13 year old malts) the fruity flavors breakthrough and this increases even further with age.

Bruichladdich makes a wide range of whiskies. Some, like the Port Charlotte and Octomore, are heavily peated.  These are very complex whiskies.

The distillery is open to the public but the folks at Bruicladdich ask that reservations be made in advance.
