More from Glen Moray

Glen Moray distillery, situated in the Speyside region of Scotland, stands as a testament to the artistry and dedication of single malt Scotch whisky production.  Nestled on the banks of the River Lossie, Glen Moray distillery embraces its picturesque surroundings.

The distillery began as the Elgin West Brewery, which had made local ales since 1830 and then was transformed into the whisky distillery we know today. The first spirit ran off the stills on 13th September, 1897.

Made entirely from local barley, Glen Morary spirits are filled into an unusually wide variety of casks.  In 1999, the first wood-finished whiskies were launched – a Chardonnay white wine cask finish and a Chenin Blanc white wine finish. These pioneering single malt whiskies rekindled the tradition of maturing whisky in a wide variety of casks.

Glen Moray whiskies are celebrated for their smooth and approachable profiles, often boasting notes of honey, vanilla, and gentle spices. Maturation occurs in an impressive array of cask types, adding depth and complexity to the final product.

The Glen Moray Visitor Center includes a small coffee shop serving light lunches, homemade soups, cakes and cookies. In the summer months the outside seating area allows you to enjoy a bit of fresh air with a whisky or even a beer. Dogs are welcome in the outside seating area.
