Tasting – March 27, 2024

In Impressions from the Scotch Hunters

Our March Tasting was a bit unusual in that we had only one new malt to taste!  In addition to an Aberfeldy 18 yo, we  decided to pull three 5-star malts from our liquor cabinets to round our the tasting.  The Aberfeldy 18 yo finished in Tuscan red wine casks was spicier than its 16 year old brother and scored a solid 4.0.  The Mortach 25 yo continued to shine and is a terrific malt deserving of it 5-star status.  At least in this tasting, the Aultmore 18 yo and the Glenfarclas 21 yo failed to impress us as much as they did when they were first tasted by our group.

A more detailed description of our impressions can be found in our individual tasting notes.
